One of the major challenges with producing networking events is the reality that attendees come from random industries. We as professionals have a precious commodity called time and ever increasing demands for it. So any time taken before, after or during business hours must be purpose driven. Baring that in mind, we at BEF decided to focus on niche events by pairing industries that we found needed each other, but didn’t necessarily prior to our events have a medium of connecting. Four such groups were Attorneys & Doctors and those in the Real Estate & Finance, which seem to be good referral sources for each other.

 The Legal and Medical fields are two of the most honored and respected professions worldwide. With the U.S. being a more litigious society, grappling with healthcare concerns, it is forcing a collision of friendly adversaries. Over the past few decades there has been a build up of tension between attorneys and doctors which stems from feelings mistrust and lack of mutual respect. Because of increasing malpractice law suits and increasing quality assurance measures, physicians feel second guessed and limited in performing their work. Attorneys tend to feel that doctors lack business savvy yet at times portray themselves as ‘all-knowing’ and above their counsel. 

This created the perfect opportunity to step in and create a relaxed environment where relationships could be fostered and through personal introductions, bridges could be created and/or mended. A testimonial of our networking events is when Dr Essig (neuropsychologist) becomes Steve and Attorney Lesser (senior partner in a law firm) becomes Gary with similar goals and challenges, leading to perhaps useful resources. In addition, for those interested in marketing to attorneys and doctors we offer the rare opportunity to build a relationship with them in a relaxed but professional atmosphere.
